Hossein Tahmasbi

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in Görlitz, Germany.

My research focuses on computational materials science, machine learning interatomic potentials, and high-throughput calculations. I develop and apply neural network potentials to study structural and thermal properties of materials, bridging the gap between ab initio methods and large-scale atomistic simulations.

I completed my Ph.D. in Condensed-Matter Physics at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) in Zanjan, Iran, with a visiting research stay at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
